LIFESTYLE | Top 5 ...

Reading is one of my favourite pastimes, and I could honestly read 10+ books when I'm on holiday! However this year, I'm a bit stuck on what to read. I'd love your recommendations! So instead, here are 5 books/series that remind me of summer. Let's dive in!

1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother has read this book, or at least heard of it! I've been a huge fan of John Green for many years, and I adore his writing style so much. The Fault In Our Stars has become a cult classic, within reason, Hazel and Augustus' story is unlike any other!

2. The Summer Trilogy by Jenny Han
The Summer I Turned Pretty (Book 1 of 3) follows Belly Conklin on her annual trip to Cousins Beach and her relationships with the aloof Conrad, best friend Jeremiah and her family. The story is well paced over the three books, and you're really brought through the ringer with Belly! The trilogy has all the fixings of a great summer series - beach setting, summer love and attractive boys!

3. One Day by David Nicholls
One Day follows the events of main characters, Emma and Dexter, on one particular day - July 15th - for 20 years. One of my favourite things about this book is that each chapter is a different year in the character's lives, so it's like a new mini story every time! While it was a bit slow to start, by the end, I was truly invested in everything Em & Dex!

4. Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games has become one of the most well known franchises, in recent times. Set in a dystopian future, the trio follows the trials and tribulations of Katniss Everdeen, as she fights against the powers that be! A truly gripping series, filled with adventure, suspense and turmoil!

5. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen is truly the queen of YA summer novels! After losing her father unexpectedly, Macy stops running, and starts bottling her feelings. With an absent boyfriend, and controlling mother, Macy left at a standstill. Along comes Wish Catering, a chaotic bunch who help Macy regain control, and truly live her life!

What are some of your favourite summer reads?!

Until next time,
